LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS AND RESTORER OF THE BROKEN

Image
The Lord is the Maker of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). But God is not only a Maker, He is also a Restorer. After God created everything, He assessed them and saw that they were good. However, when sin entered the world through man, the perfect world God created was corrupted. But the good news is that God can restore. His power to restore extends to our lives. No matter how badly we have ruined our own lives, God can repair that which is broken. While we may not always think that our lives can ever be put back together again, the Lord knows how to perfectly restore it. In God, we have hope . Isaiah 49:8-9 is a prophecy speaking of the coming of the Lord Jesus and the purpose that God had sent Him for. He is to be a Savior and Restorer of the earth and of people living in darkness. When He was here on earth, He did not only teach the Word of God but He also transformed the people He encountered along the way. Jesus Came to Restore Life, Relationships, Future, and...

THE END OF THE MATTER

None of us know what we will happen in the end. Will we stay faithful? Will we stay on course? Someone once said that in heaven, you will be surprised at how some people you do not expect to be there will be there, and some whom you are expecting to be there are not. The Bible is filled with examples of those who were faithful until the end and those who were deflected from the course that God has for them. The Thief on the Cross and His Good End Consider the thief that gave his life to Jesus when he was crucified on the cross. (Luke 23:39-43). The greatest mercy he received is to be crucified on the cross, for it is there he received salvation. Whatever he did must have been so severe so as to be crucified on the cross. And while his persecutors might have cursed him to go to hell, he made it to heaven in his dying moment by the mercy of God (Luke 23:43)! Judas the Disciple Who Betrayed Jesus How about Judas, who spent the last three and a half years of his life being taught ...

EARTHEN VESSELS

Have you ever felt like you will never amount to anything of worth? Have you ever thought that you’re just an ordinary person with a bad past and a hopeless future? Perhaps you may think that your life is already broken beyond repair. But the truth is, God does not reject our broken pieces. Instead, He is willing to accept us, pick up our broken parts, and restore us to something beautiful, if only we would allow Him. This precious truth of God’s willingness and power to change us and restore us is so important for us to grasp that He chose to prove this to us through Jesus’ first ever miracle (John 2:1-11). THE FIRST MIRACLE OF JESUS The first miracle of Jesus was at a wedding feast. There came a shortage of wine so Mary brought up the matter with Jesus. The Lord Jesus then instructed the servants to fill six waterpots with water. Each pot contained 20 to 30 gallons of water which were originally intended to be used by Jews for the washing of their hands before they ate....

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

What do you feel when you do not have the things you need or want in life? Do you worry when you do not have food on the table? Do you get anxious when you do not have a job? Do you feel sad when you feel you are lacking something? Have you ever felt unloved? God is an all sufficient God . He is the answer to every question that man has and He is everything man is looking for.  David wrote in Psalm 23:1-3 that the Lord is his Shepherd and he shall not want. He makes David lie down in green pastures and He leads him beside still waters. He restores his soul and He leads him in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. In the first part of this passage, David reveals an aspect of God’s nature and character, declaring Him to be his Shepherd. A shepherd is someone who nurtures his sheep. He takes care of the necessities of his flock, protects them from danger, and ensures their well-being. So is true with God, He is our Shepherd. With Him, there will never be a lack...
