GODLY PURPOSES AND PRIORITIES

Image
If our purposes and priorities are right, then we preserve not only our lives but our very existence. God has created us for a purpose. When we establish our paths to godly pursuits and purposes, then we attain success because it is done through God’s way. Today, success is not defined well. True success is doing God's will. How do we fare? How does God see us? Do we bring a smile on God’s face? Success is guaranteed if we bring pleasure to God. Failure to process right priorities causes us to waste our time, energy, and eventually, our lives. As men and women of the Lord, these are our purposes in life: 1. To follow and fulfill the Great Commission Sometimes our desire is focused more on leading people to higher visions or to the fullness of what God has for them. Do we have someone to bring to full maturity? Do we want to bring someone else’s sheaves? Mark 16:15-16 says, “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. HAVING THE RIGHT PURSUITS

At the start of the year, it is essential we get our perspective right. Aiming for the right things can help make 2017 a fruitful year. Before we hit the ground running, we need to have it clear in our minds what we are to pursue. Otherwise, the year might just be spent running aimlessly. In the Bible, there are 158 verses on the word “ joy ” and these verses did not point to having joy because of material wealth or success. The Lord is our Provider. We ought not to be investing in the things of this world but to that which is eternal . The great men and women of God found true joy because they don’t have interests in wealth and material possessions. When they testify, you see freedom in them and they were never afraid and so, we hope to be like them in our walk with God. In 2016, there could be a number of instructions the Lord has given us. In line with these instructions, we need to seek God on how we can completely obey and finish them for this new year. As we start 2017, we...

BEING AN EFFECTIVE WITNESS

Mark 5:18-20 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, b you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.ut said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for him and all marvelled.      Unlike the disciples who followed and served Jesus, the demon-possessed man who was delivered by Jesus was clearly instructed to go back to his home and be a witness among his own people. To me, this account serves as a reminder that while not all are called to a path of full-time church ministry, we are certainly all called to be ministers of the gospel wherever God has planted us.       For believers who are in secular jobs, it is no accident God has placed you where you are today. He has a divine purpose for putting you i...
